English Riviera Destination Guide 2016 - page 18

Paignton is such a fun-filled destination that we believe it
should be right at the top of everyone’s bucket (and spade)
list! Famous for its colourful beach huts, heritage steam train and
award winning beaches. You can choose between the sandy stretches
of Paignton and Preston Sands or try a spot of rock pooling
at Goodrington.
Go wild at Paignton Zoo voted third best zoo in the UK by TripAdvisor or if the kids
fancy getting wet, head for Splashdown@Quaywest, the UK’s largest outdoor water park.
Children can burn off some energy at the fantastic free GeoPlay Park and Paignton Pier.
Take a walk around the picturesque Paignton Harbour where there are some great value dining
experiences to be had. Watersports lovers can try kayaking or diving or you can head out to sea on
one of our many sightseeing boat trips.
Back on dry land we’ve got a great choice of holiday shopping and evening entertainment at the many
bars and cafes located throughout the town around Paignton Harbour and along the seafront.
Paignton Green is home to a number of top events including Paignton Festival, BMAD Bike
and Music Festival and theTorbay Air Show which will take place on the 3rd – 4th June.
